Through a vibrant, kitschy hawker-style kiosk, “Fusion, Confusion”, an interactive installation, invites participants to experience the cultural fusion and confusion, high- lighting the unique identity struggles TCKs (Third Culture Kids) face as they navigate multiple cultural landscapes and search for a sense of belonging. Reflecting the blend of cultures, the kiosk features a fusion menu combining elements from Chinese, Singaporean, and British cuisines. Audience members “order” from the menu, receiving a unique sentence blending Singlish, standard English, and Mandarin, symbolising the fluidity and complexity of TCK identities. By playing with aesthetics, sound, setup, and interaction, this playful piece immerses participants in the dynamic and often disorienting world of TCKs.
